The progression and development of education in our classrooms has come a long way. The days of chalk, dusters and blackboards are coming to an end. Take a glance at almost any modern school and you will see the difference in the look of a classroom from how you remember it. 21st-century education aims to make time spent in the classroom as informative and engaging as possible. Unlocking the door to a more dynamic learning experience is what every academic strives for. This is where Interactive Technology takes the stage. Whether it’s the new, glossy whiteboards that take centre stage at the front of every class or the projectors that have replaced the box TVs that was once ruled the school. Technology has come a long way and with that, education has evolved.

Classroom Interactivity

The growing popularity of whiteboards in our classrooms signalled a shift away from the traditional teaching methodology. In the past, the teacher taught on a blackboard, explaining every detail. Today’s generation is more involved and the benefits are there for all to see. Whether it’s the large scale board at the front of the room or the smaller ones that are passed out to the kids. The value of being educated in this capacity has gained impressive momentum and as a result, have condemned blackboards to a thing of the past. Improving social skills. Developing confidence. Increasing participation. Enhancing Collaboration amongst the students. The advantages of interactive whiteboards are endless and sharing information is as easy as ever.

Encouraging Independence

The introduction and development of Interactive Technology has given the younger generation all the right tools to become as knowledgeable as ever before. They are encouraged to think on their own. In the past students could get through the day by letting other, more confident students do the majority of the participation work. Those practices are being diminished thanks to the introduction of Interactive Technology. Children are today more present in their participation which often relies on them having to come up with answers on their own. This develops the individuality of the students and progresses their confidence when they come up to the solution to a problem or an answer to a question thanks to their own intellect.

Engagement and Enjoyment

The use of Interactive Technology has significantly increased the motivation of children in today’s classrooms. Teachers have more options in relation to engaging students. Fun educational games are a common tool in making the education experience an enjoyable one. Getting the younger generation caught up in competitive learning activities can only be good for classroom moral and motivation of the kids. Allowing children a sense of freedom and creativity can be a beneficial practice which is rewarding and lets their imagination roam freely. Technology in the classroom gives students the platform to make their education as worthy and engaging as the possible. The generation of the future will live their lives surrounded by advancing technology, getting familiar with it at a young age is a good way to start.
